The conditions of Town 2.0’s license approval include:
- Hiring at least two police officers on Fridays and Saturdays from at least midnight to closing
- Making sure line to get in runs south towards K Street
- Ensuring sounds can’t be heard in the apartment bldg next door or from public space
- All exterior seating areas must be shut down at 2:00 a.m.
In November last year, several groups tried to block Town 2.0 @WhatsUpAtTown from opening inside of the former church on North Capitol Street. However, the arguments did not hold up with DC’s Alcohol Beverage Control Board. The club’s license has been approved
Judging from the documents below we still hope this club is set to open for the gays in D.C. to be able to go out to a safe space and for us to come visit!
Quander went on to report:
“There are a few things that can happen from here: Opponents can challenge the ABC Board’s decision, but it must be done within 10 days. There are also some additional steps on the licensing side in order for the license app to move from approval to issuance.”
