Kathy Griffin uploaded: “Look… I’m at the Grammys with a mouse!” Sarcasm or does she really know who that is? Deadmau5 was spotted on the red carpet at last nights Grammy Awards wearing Skrillex’s phone number on his shirt. You know electronic music has went a leap ahead when Kathy Griffin is jamming out to Deadmau5. It has certainly came a long way since Erasure in more of a computer modem sort of way. My favorite quote from the Grammy Awards last night was “Kanye wins best auto-tune, Adele wins most overplayed song of 2011, Skillrex wiins best modem noise.”
Robyn showed up at the red carpet and got an F from the Fashion police according to Yahoo News. Although we thought she was just dressed like Robyn would dress. She deserved to win over Skrillex for “Call Your Girlfriend,” but she will remain one of the best dance artists of all-time in my book. Robyn is the Queen of many dancehalls! The Grammy’s are not Peoples Choice that is for sure. Otherwise Bon Ives would not have beat out Foster the People for “Pumped up kicks.”
I thought Chris Brown had hot dance performance and the cubes he danced on should be installed in every club for us all to jump on. He sure had a big package sticking out of those white pants. Katy Perry sang her new song about her breakup with Russell Brand although he just said before the Grammy’s he would not take her money so she probably needs to re-write that mess. I liked her choreography she seemed more fun than normal. The hair was kind of creepy though.
It was great to see the powerful tribute to Whitney Houston by Jennifer Hudson. Dolly Parton even approved and has commented that she “Will Always Love Whitney”. Lady Gaga was definitely mourning and looked creepy in the eyes. I think she must have had those enlarge the pupils to make her look crying effect contacts in her eyes. The little monsters were not happy about her losses last night but she took it like a pro and commented on Facebook that Adele deserved them and basically it was the year for Adele in record sales and she definitely won over the elites.
Thoughts on Adele sweeping the Grammy’s
She deserved grammy or two. I am not sure she deserved to sweep the show. Too many other NEW artists out there there are other songs besides the two Adele songs that are being overplayed on the radio. I am happy for her but I wish they would appreciate all the artists that had great music in 2011.
