Krave Massive apparently has been shut down by the State of Nevada over licensing issues before Labor Day weekend one of the biggest revenue nights of the year for any club. It is also right before Las Vegas Pride and Gay Days weekend which falls on September 6th. We still do not know if they will be open on September 6th for the night following the Pride Parade.
The Las Vegas Sun Newspaper reported that the state of Nevada on Friday closed Krave Massive due to unspecified permit issues. Drink & Drag, a drag queen bowling alley and gaming lounge also owned by the Krave Co. on the second floor of Neonopolis, will remain open.
THe last post on the Krave Massive Facebook wall says ”
Krave is pleased to announce that we have entered into a tentative agreement to be acquired by a new owner! While the final terms are concluded, we have decided that during this transition to a bigger and better Krave, we will not be open this weekend. We invite you visit and enjoy @DrinkandDrag all weekend long, including FREE cover.”
If Krave is open for the Pride weekend they will have Neon Hitch perform and Urban Dance sensation Skye Stevens. Labor Day weekend they were supposed to have DJ Dave Aude, JoJo performing, and a Military Fetish Party.
There were doubts that a gay club could actually make it in downtown Las Vegas and if it does fail everyone may point to that. We will see how long Drink and Drag can stay open without the hopes of another club appearing near it. The gays in Las Vegas and the gay tourists like to stay on the strip and that is why Krave on the strip did so well with over 4.500 customers a week. Gipsy is remodeling right now and with Share nightclub there would really be no reason for people to go downtown.
